English: For a period of five weeks, we worked on an experimental project based on the Pockel's effect, which is an electro-optical effect that allows optical modulation thanks to the physical phenomenon of birefringence present in certain materials and allows the external modulation of the intensity, phase or polarization of a light wave. Indeed, it is the appearance of a birefringence in a medium created by a static or variable electric field. The latter is proportional to the electric field. This effect has direct applications in everyday life, especially in the transmission of information by optical fibers that we carried out at the very end of our work
Français : Pendant une durée de cinq semaines, nous avons travaillé sur un projet expérimental basé sur l’effet Pockels qui est un effet électro-optique permettant la modulation optique grâce au phénomène physique de biréfringence présent au sein de certains matériaux et permet la modulation externe de l’intensité, phase ou la polarisation d’une onde lumineuse. En effet, il s'agit de l'apparition d'une biréfringence dans un milieu créée par un champ électrique statique ou variable. Cette dernière est proportionnelle au champ électrique. Cet effet a des applications directes dans la vie quotidienne, notamment dans la transmission d’information par fibres optiques que nous avons réalisée en toute fin de notre travail.
