The logo looks very bad compared to other Wikis. I want to create a better logo (which looks more like the one used for the other Wikipedias) but I need to know the text of the logo first, so could you provide it? Thanks, -- 84.178.201.176 16:24, 24 November 2007 (UTC)

Are you able to see the older revisions of the file? If so, you can see that there were some more legible versions, the last version we have now by Teferra did not come out so legible, unfortunately. The reason for the last change was the transliteration of 'Wikipedia', which went from ዊኪፔድያ to ውክፐድያ and finally ውክፐዲያ. All variant spellings seem to be in use, depending on how one pronounces it; Amharic doesn't seem to have settled on any one spelling for the word yet. Give me some time today and I will google to see which one seems to be getting the most use elsewhere. The bottom part is supposed to say ነፃው መዝገበ ዕውቀት. ፈቃደ (ውይይት) 14:03, 25 November 2007 (UTC)

I did some research and found almost all variants are found on wikipedia mirrors or copied from here. The most common spelling on Warka seems to be ዊኪፔዲያ, but after careful consideration I would advise altering it to favor this exact spelling: ውክፔዲያ -- ፈቃደ (ውይይት) 15:34, 25 November 2007 (UTC)

I tried and was not able to add transparency without serious bugs, and apparently nobody is willing (or able?) to do that for me, so I'm afraid I can't finish the logo. However, the unfinished logo is Image:New wikipedia logo am.png in case you want to do something with it. -- 84.178.215.122 15:53, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
